Seminar MetropolX Kharkiv

The task of the seminar was to involve, understand, and anticipate built heritage in Kharkiv which is a million-plus city, a large scientific, industrial, trade, and transport center that has undergone significant political and social changes in recent history. It makes it an interesting case study for understanding the impact of such changes on built heritage from different layers (infrastructure, housing, identity and image, culture, heritage, geography, greenery, or public space). Various layers of the contemporary city landscapes of Kharkiv, be it geography, demography, economy, power, or politics – concerning urban planning and architecture of the city were detected, studied and drawn.
