The focus of the research based seminar to analyze the city of Kharkiv which is a million-plus city, a large scientific, industrial, trade, and transport center that has undergone significant political and social changes in recent history. It makes it an interesting case study for understanding the impact of such changes on built heritage from different layers (infrastructure, housing, identity and image, culture, heritage, geography, greenery, or public space). Scientific elaboration based on personal editing, critical evaluation, and conclusion will be visualized in a popular form, including a theoretical background of each issue, a short historical overview, and up-to-date conditions.
